I can’t stand the guilt trip tumblr posts. I think they’re unfair and condescending. Just because you hit a button to reblog something doesn’t mean you care more than someone who chooses not to.
There’s a tumblr floating around with a baby, naked and covered with some sort of flesh eating bacteria. The photos are sad, overwhelming and disturbing. The story is obfuscated by a bunch of “most people don’t want this on their dash because it changes the blah blah blah” and “if you dont’ have a heart, then don’t reblog this.”.
How fucking dare you. You have no idea how, why or when something affects other people. If they choose to not distribute disturbing pictures, then that’s their right! And the fact that you’re obviously ignoring the original poster’s shameless trolling for reblogs says a lot as well. There is also some suggestion that the more you reblog this, someone is going to send a dollar to some fund. Okay, then why didn’t you include info about how to donate if you choose not to reblog the photo?
Just because you don’t reblog a cancer survivor or a burn victim or a child stricken with a terrible disease does not make you a bad person any more than posting it makes you a good person.
Why not have people do something out of their goodness of their collective hearts rather than using guilt propaganda to have it happen?
It’s getting ridiculous. That baby should not be plastered all over tumblr just so you can push some buttons. It’s disgusting and shameful. If you want someone to help, then ask for help not reblogs.
Stop the bullshit tumblr guilt trips.
This goes out to facebook status posts as well.
Not to mention that the majority of the posts I’ve seen circulated around Tumblr and/or Facebook are fakes. Takes about...
or a trigger warning! somethin…i posted somethin about guilt posts the other day. i hate that shit!
