saw this. i was shocked; they rarely show that ep in syndication. it’s also the ep with one hell of a kiss initiated by dwayne and where they smash cake in each other’s faces. siiiiiiiigh
You’re killllllling me.
i didn’t mean to! i just have a lot of feelings for this show and don’t often have an outlet to express them. for example, can we talk about how many episodes are never shown in syndication? paired with the fact that only season one is on dvd?! injustice of epic proportions. like this episode for example:
Whitley’s ambitious nature finds a new channel when she takes a job at The Pit in order to pay for repairs to Mr. Gaines’ car, but Kim finds Whitley’s endless ideas a threat to her status as the favorite employee.
WHAT IS THIS YOU SPEAK OF, WIKIPEDIA, I DO NOT RECALL THIS AT ALL. I PROBABLY ONLY SAW IT ONCE.
or this one, that i clearly remember, but would love to see again:
In order to win a competition to sing backup for Gladys Knight, Jaleesa and Whitley join forces. Gladys Knight, Dawnn Lewis and Jasmine Guy perform the song “Love Overboard.”
i’ll stop now.
Big Sister ; Holiday 2011 Wal-Mart Emotions Overload in Video Form
yeah. so, i first saw this commercial around thanksgiving and i’ve teared up a little every single freakin time. now that it’s christmas eve, stations are of course playing it every commercial segment. i guess this means i need to move away from the tv, because i may not make it through all these repeated emotions. damn you, capitalism.
all jokes aside, say what you will about the company, or the holiday, or damn, the war. but i just don’t see how anyone can watch these 30 seconds and not be human enough to have their heart clench just a teeny tiny bit.
merry christmas, peeps.
i bought this gorgeous product of literary genius a few weeks ago at the massive going-out-of-business sale borders is having. i meant to snap some pics and share awhile ago, but every time i went to do it, i’d end up just staring. maybe it’s just me - and the fact that the color purple has been my favorite book since i was too young to understand it all - but i think this thing is gorgeous. i didn’t even know a reprint had been done of it. i cherish all of my books, hard cover and softback, biography to comic, dog-eared to pristine, but this one just somersaulted onto the top of my list. i’m reminded of treasure every time i glance at it. i just, i approve on so many levels. i get the chance to ogle at beautiful design, revisit my favorite yet again (just started a reread today) and finally get around to reading the temple of my familiar. all for an affordable price.
"If it is true that it is what we run from that chases us, then The Color Purple (this color that is always a surprise but is everywhere in nature) is the book that ran me down while I sat with my back to it in a field. Without the Great Mystery’s word coming from any Sunday sermon or through any human mouth, there I heard and saw it moving in beauty across the grassy hills.” ~ Alice Walker, Preface
